Is There Any Way to Continue Downloading Red Dead 2 on Xbox One Without Disc Two
Hi, no you don't need to unistall the disc version since, once installed, it is equivalent to the digital one (the xbox simply needs the disc to verify that you own the game, if you buy a digital copy the verification is made with the account directly).
You will only need to upgrade your current version and it will be done automatically after the purchase (it will starts download some DLC/add-on).
Regarding the progress you will maintein all your progress since it is linked to your account and not to the copy of the game.
I did not experienced this situation with RDR2 but I experienced it with Forza Horizon 4 and it went all good

You won't have to download the game again, only the DLC will need to be. You will be "transferring" the license for the game from the disc to digital version.
All in game process is saved to your account on the cloud. You will only need to sync to the cloud to have the saved data downloaded to enjoy where you left the last time you played.

Hello Shadowcat20, it turns out you don't have to delete Red Dead Redemption 2, the disk version, because when you buy the Ultimate version of the game; will automatically download the add-ons present in the version.
And on its progress, it will remain intact, save in the game publisher's cloud.

As already mentioned by the others you don´t have to redownload the whole game. Just make the purchase of the digital Version and it will do the rest automaticly. Maybe you have to start the download of some dlc manually. To check that just go to my games and apps and select manage game. If some DLC shows up in the ready to install section just trigger the download.

Thanks to all for the quick responses. I figured it was all linked to my account, but just wanted to make sure and verify the installation procedure and progress info before purchasing the digital copy.

You do not need to delete the disk version at all. Once you buy the digital version of the game you no longer need to insert the disk. I have done this with several EA access games in the past or with some games with gold.

I believe that it will just upgrade your current version of the game.
If you do have to re-install. Then your progress should be saved and merged into the new version of the game.

in teoria non devi disinstallare nulla e ti spiego il perché. Tu ora utilizzi il CD perché all'interno di esso risiedono le licenze di avvio, se prenderai la ultimate edition in pratica eliminerei la necessità di utilizzare il disco perché le licenze diverranno digitali e di conseguenza non dovrai più usarlo.

Hello,
When you all ready own the game and have everything up to date like updates and stuff. You dont need to reinstall the game for a digital version. The disc and digital is the same game and same way it works so theres no reason to uninstall and reinstall.
